Meet Sara

My desire to serve others led me to start my own law firm to focus on estate planning, probate and trust administration issues. As I gained experience, I saw the very specific help that families with children with special needs require, as well as the help that our elder population requires with planning for long term care. I truly enjoy what I do, and that I can make a big difference in people’s lives through my work.

Prior to attending law school, I spent nearly a decade in the financial services industry. I am a native Oregonian, and I received my undergraduate degree in French from Portland State University. I attended law school at Boston College, where I earned my Juris Doctor. In order to fully serve my clients, I returned to school at the University of Washington School of Law, where I received my Master of Laws (LL.M.), a graduate law degree with a focus on taxation, held only by a very small percentage of lawyers nationwide. I am a member and active participant with several professional organizations which provide on-going training and education, as well as collaboration with other experts. These include:

I previously served on the Boards of Housecall Providers as well as Women in Insurance and Financial Services. I live in West Linn with my husband Albert and our daughter, Natalie, who keeps us both on our toes. When not working with Natalie on her homeschool or violin lessons, we are frequently found hitting balls on the driving range at Willamette Valley Country Club. I also recently returned to the study of piano after a two-decade hiatus, and am enjoying discovering my music again. In the winter, my family spends several evenings per month cheering on the Portland Winterhawks hockey club. As Natalie says, “Go Hawks Go!”

What others are saying…

“Besides being informative and engaging, Sara breaks down complex issues so they are easily understood and applicable. I left the meeting with a much better understanding of special needs planning and how to match solutions to clients.”

“The process was very easy and smooth. Sara asked the tough questions with compassion and practicality, which was great. I felt a sense of trust in her skills, experience and confidentiality. I have already passed along her name to several of my colleagues, encouraging them to get trusts!”

“Sara was very patient and answered every question I had about the whole process. She made it really easy to set up my plan and explained how everything works. I highly recommend her because she helped me get this done right.”
